I have mixed feelings at the moment. I am happy that I haven't lost my job due to the injury, but at the same time, bummed out that I have to limit my time on the computer again. I just got cleared from their doctor that I can go, but the stipulation is that I have to wear a lower back support, no matter what.
I went back to my doctor yesterday and found out that I have a hereditary back condition, and it's the same thing that my dad has. The only way to correct it is through surgery but that will have to wait. The good thing is I can start making money again, the bad thing is that it will be about another week before I can see a check. The pain is manageable which is good.
Yesterday I was walking with a terrible limp, which most had their doubts that I would pass the lift test. I walked with a limp into the clinic and they said that there was no way they were going to let me try. I looked at them sternly and said, "I have done this with pain before. It's nothing new. It's not as bad as it was two weeks ago and I can't afford to take anymore time off. Trust me, if it's really bad, I'll let you know."
I did the lift test with perfection and the doctor was astonished that I was able to do it without pain. I had a back support this time, which really helped out a lot.
